The shape of the model has a sense of separation as it is constructed with different sizes of space around. All the parts are pointing at the centre which highlight the space in the middle. Since Hopper is interested in cinema, the model has large window, which shows the interior. Different parts of the model create screens to show what happen inside the model.
The concept sketches above give a more clear idea about the separation of different parts of the painting. through the design process, i tried to separate the painting according to different parts of it, such the bar, the building behind, the street and the dark and light difference. After this, i chose the shapes from the them and re-organized the shapes.
From the painting, the first inspiration is the separation of inside and outside according to the different lighting effect. The central part of the model is highlighted by using dark colour to the external and bright colour to the internal of the model.
